Magsungay River runs along Bacolod-Murcia Milling Company (a sugar mill) and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos. It floods all the way to the brim during the monsoon rains. When calm, locals would use it for swimming or washing clothes. Due to deforestation for expanding farms, the river lost a lot of flowing water. It s also dirty with garbage and illegal dumping. It had a good flow of cleaner water when the town s population was smaller.
